How to Get Your Project’s Digestate Certified

  1. Sign up: apply online and submit you fee to the American Biogas Council (ABC)
  2. Third Party Verifier validates registration
  3. Pick a certified laboratory from ABC website
  4. Send initial sample to lab for each end use
  5. Lab sends results to Producer & ABC; lab declares whether or not sample(s) passed
  6. ABC notifies Producer; if sample(s) passed, permission is granted to use logos
  7. Follow Chapter 11 instructions for marketing, distribution

Notes:
+ AWDP = Annual Whole Digestate Production (tons/year or gallons/year if your digestate has <10% solids)
+ Fees are for certifying the whole digestate of an individual site (i.e., liquid AND solids).
+ If you would like to certify multiple sites (and we hope you will!), please register each site separately.

Non-member – $850 ($.017/ton)
